Spring is in the air! What perfect timing for our event planning 101 and spring centerpiece workshop at our studio with special guest Lindsay Piram.
Macaroons & cupcakes from Sweets Bakeshop.
Lots of fun ideas from Lindsay Piram like wooden monogrammed eggs and birds nests that add that extra touch.
Lindsay Piram teaching the bunny napkin fold.
Way to rock those Easter centerpieces ladies!

Red Ribbon Studio and Just Bloomed have been swooning over stop motion videos since we saw the first Kindle commercial. So much so, we decided to make one of our own! Super huge thanks to Maribeth from Red Ribbon Studio for producing and photographing this fun! Check it out here.

Ten years ago today, my husband proposed to me here at the beautiful historic Nottoway plantation home in Whitehouse, Louisiana. That morning he said, "pack a bag, lets go". The day ended with a proposal and a YES!
This man is my rock! He's an amazing partner, father of our two boys, makes me laugh daily and lovingly supports this business and floral passion of mine which includes me having hands that look like a dudes, a basement overflowing with vases (it doesn't all fit at the studio), and being gone most Saturdays. I'm so glad he hasn't thrown the towel in on me yet.
These photos were taken by Sewell Photography a few weeks ago when we were in Napa, CA. Thanks Jennie for capturing the love. And thanks wine country for the wine...it's definately easier being on this end of the camera after a little alcohol.

People often ask me how I came about this little, shall we say…floral obsession. Perhaps a surprise to some, I’ve never had any formal floral design training. But I’ve grown up watching my mother and grandmother—both pictured here in my parents’ wedding photo—making tabletops fabulous for as long as I can remember.
2010 marks the 10th anniversary of my grandmother passing, but I can clearly remember the smell of her pickled cucumber salad and fresh linens. I have vivid memories of her attention to detail and DIY gracefulness when it came to her event décor. And by event décor I mean her intimate family dinners for my remarkable grandfather, her four children and nine grandchildren, or her simple get-togethers with some of their many, many friends.
My grandmother’s birthday would have been today. She was born June 22, 1923 and she was witty, forthright and curious—one of the most lovely, honest, caring people I’ve had the pleasure to know in my lifetime. I’d like to thank her today from the bottom of my heart for her passion, humor and love and all that she has done to inspire Just Bloomed on a daily basis.
Special thanks to Clover & Bee for publishing this tribute to my grandma today as well. Head over there to check it out!

The last thing I have time to be doing now that we are in the thick of wedding season is shopping, but I've had an obsession recently with finding the perfect chair for our desk at the studio. In skimming for options, I came across this lovely wonder and although this one's not for me, how can you not love the Dr. Seuss element of this valentina gonzalez wohlers' prickly pair chair!
...and so the chair quest continues.

GOOD FOOD....as far as favorite things go, it's a tie between that, my three dudes, deep red peonies and the view from Signorello Winery's infinity pool in Napa....well and pretty much any wine that comes out of Signorello Winery.
Anyway, when Jennie and I were planning this event, securing our favorite restaurant First Course to cater the party was at the top of the agenda. So you can imagine the excitement when chef/owner Travis Metzger agreed to be a part of our event! His food is FABULOUS and his restaurant is located just a few blocks from our studio. If you haven't had the opportunity to visit his restaurant be sure to book your next date night or girls outing there! You won't be disappointed.

Eventually the basement of the studio will be the design area for Just Bloomed but for the party we filled the space with cocktail tables for mingling. Where the gray curtain hangs will be a walk in cooler later this month. The remainder of the basement will be lined with design tables, ribbon and flower tools. Special thanks to Katiee at Apres for these beautiful black pin tuck linens.
And some photos from the party...
